Magnesium is known as the ‘anti-stress’ or rejuvenation mineral. Magnesium is required for around 350 known bio-chemical reactions that occur throughout the body. These bio-chemical reactions assist in maintaining nerve and muscle function, a steady heart rhythm and calcium bonding for bone strength. Magnesium also has a role in protein synthesis and in assisting energy metabolism.

 When to supplement:

Supplementing Magnesium would be required by persons/animals with conditions that cause excessive urinary loss of magnesium. All athletes are at risk of developing a magnesium deficiency due to loss of fluid by perspiration.

Concentration of Magnesium at 29000 mg/L, together with:

Boron         11mg/L (assists with calcium absorption)
Calcium      700mg/L (essential for a variety of bodily functions, eg muscle contraction, neurotransmission, proper heart function).
Iron             0.21 mg/L (carries oxygen to the cells)
Lithium        1.9 mg/L (important as an anti-depressant)

Dosage for horses:  Start with 10ml mixed in feed, if tolerated (that is, not too soft in dungs), 20ml daily may be beneficial.
